Episode 86
Is Reiki Biblica
The discussion centers on the critical examination of Reiki, a Japanese healing practice, and its compatibility with biblical principles. I elucidate the inherent differences between Reiki and the Christian understanding of healing, emphasizing that Reiki is rooted in a universal life force accessible to all, contrasting sharply with the belief that true healing emanates solely from God through the Holy Spirit. We explore the implications of integrating Reiki into Christian practices, arguing that it undermines the exclusivity of Christ as the mediator between humanity and God. Furthermore, I delineate how the temporary relief offered by Reiki fails in comparison to the profound, lasting transformation brought about by faith in Christ. Ultimately, I advocate for a reliance on biblical meditation and prayer as the authentic means for Christians to seek healing, thereby reaffirming the necessity of aligning one’s spiritual practices with scriptural truths.
Takeaways:
- Reiki, a Japanese healing practice, is not aligned with biblical principles and teachings.
- The source of Reiki energy is impersonal and universal, contrasting with the Holy Spirit's personal nature.
- Practitioners who perform Reiki believe they can channel energy, unlike Christians who rely on prayer and faith.
- Reiki's methods involve rituals and symbols, which conflict with biblical teachings regarding spiritual authority.

Speaker A:And welcome back to Casting Seeds.
Speaker A:I'm Savannah, your holistic health practitioner and host, and you're listening to the only holistic health podcast that uses God's singular truth to give you individualized discernment.
Speaker A:Penelope is literally asleep on my shoulder right now, and I'm praying she stays asleep.
Speaker A:We have, like, I have, like, no time to record, even though I have all of these episodes written out.
Speaker A:So I'm trying to get this out.
Speaker A:Like a short and sweet, simple, to the point episode about Reiki and why it's not considered biblical.
Speaker A:And if anyone asks about it or, you know, especially, I feel like a lot of Christians that are, and I don't know why this happens in so many practices, but a lot of Christians will do this thing where it's like, well, energy and frequencies are the same thing.
Speaker A:And it's.
Speaker A:It's honestly not.
Speaker A:It can be, but the same way that, like, sex is a good thing and a beautiful thing in marriage, but then people can still use sex outside of marriage and make it sinful.
Speaker A:Using sound healing and things like that is very different.
Speaker A:Using God's creation in a biblical way versus using spiritual things, you know.
Speaker A:Anyway, so we're going to talk about, like, can, can there be a Christian version of Reiki?
Speaker A:What is Reiki and all that stuff in this episode, but hopefully short and sweet and to the point because Penelope is already wiggling on me and she's been asleep, but maybe you guys will hear some of her cute little sounds during this episode.
Speaker A:So let's get into it.
Speaker A:What is Reiki?
Speaker A: cause it was only made in the: Speaker A:It's M I K a o I think it's Miko.
Speaker A:USI usi U S u I USUI oh my gosh, I know.
Speaker A:I'm butchering that so badly.
Speaker A:Anyway, Reiki is actually a two part word.
Speaker A:So re means universal or spiritual.
Speaker A:So like a spiritual universe.
Speaker A:And then key is a life source or energy kind of similar to chi or like piranha.
Speaker A:In Eastern practices.
Speaker A:Chi is more Chinese, which is actually kind of funny.
Speaker A:Key is more Japanese, and then prana is more from India.
Speaker A:So the practitioners who do this, they believe that they can channel this universal, universal life force and energy through their hands into a person to promote healing and balance and relaxation.
Speaker A:So it's a short term thing fix during, during the Raiki sessions, they'll like Hover their hands lightly above a person so they won't touch you at all.
Speaker A:And they'll be praying or meditating to transfer.
Speaker A:Transfer this light source.
Speaker A:And sometimes it's a dark source.
Speaker A:They'll talk about that.
Speaker A:This energy.
Speaker A:Oh, let's see.
Speaker A:One second.
Speaker A:Sorry, I had to transfer to breastfeeding.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:The life of a working mom.
Speaker A:Anyway, basically they hover and then they'll pray or meditate to transfer this energy into unit supposed to reset your energy.
Speaker A:So I want to get into, like, the source and the nature.
Speaker A:Like, we're going to compare Reiki energy to the Holy Spirit before, you know, obviously I'm against Reiki, and I just want you to see the difference between Reiki energy and the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:And then I'll also add in frequencies as well, because a lot of people think that they're the same, and none of those three are.
Speaker A:So let's talk about the source.
Speaker A:So Reiki energy is universal life force, right?
Speaker A:That anyone can access.
Speaker A:It's a universal something that you can pull from nothing.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is a part of God himself.
Speaker A:It's the third person of the Trinity.
Speaker A:So there's a significant difference there, right?
Speaker A:It's a part of who God is.
Speaker A:If you're talking about sound frequency healings, right?
Speaker A:Healing from that.
Speaker A:It's just sounds.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:That's the source of it.
Speaker A:The origin, the power source is any type of vibration or sound wave.
Speaker A:It's a sound wave.
Speaker A:That's the source.
Speaker A:Very different.
Speaker A:One's like creation, one's creator, and then the other one.
Speaker A:It.
Speaker A:I don't know where it comes from.
Speaker A:Universal force.
Speaker A:Like, what does that even mean?
Speaker A:N. So the nature of it is.
Speaker A:Reiki energy is an impersonal energy or vibration, right?
Speaker A:And it's impersonal because you don't know where it comes from.
Speaker A:And then you don't know, like, anyway, how it's transferring.
Speaker A:God is the opposite.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is a personal and relational spirit who speaks and comforts and convicts and the.
Speaker A:Sorry, it just makes me laugh.
Speaker A:Comparing it to sound.
Speaker A:Sound is sound.
Speaker A:It's a sound wave.
Speaker A:It's creation again.
Speaker A:So the means of access to it, Reiki energy is to.
Speaker A:In order to receive it or get it, you have to meditate, you have to do atonement, you have to do symbols, you have to do hand placements.
Speaker A:You have to do certain things to be able to receive it and give it.
Speaker A:You have to learn how to do it too.
Speaker A:Where the Holy Spirit is faith in Jesus, prayer, obedience, and indwelling.
Speaker A:Either through salvation or not through salvation.
Speaker A:Because God also can indwell and use people even if they're not saved.
Speaker A:And then let me think, the means of access through any type of sound wave is creation, right?
Speaker A:You do it through objects or your mouth or whatever.
Speaker A:It's a sound wave, can happen through anything.
Speaker A:The purpose of it.
Speaker A:So the purpose of Reiki healing is a physical emotion or healing or relaxation or balance.
Speaker A:So it's for a very short term goal.
Speaker A:The purpose of the Holy Spirit is a transformation, it's sanctification, spiritual rebirth, divine power of God's glory.
Speaker A:And the whole purpose of it is salvation.
Speaker A:There's an eternal consequence of not having the Holy Spirit or having it.
Speaker A:So there's a very big difference which leads us to authority.
Speaker A:The authority of Reiki energy is the practitioner.
Speaker A:So you as a practitioner can challenge it up or ch, not challenge it, channel it at will.
Speaker A:So you are the authority of this energy where the Holy Spirit is the authority.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:If you think about the authority, it's under God's authority, God's timing, God's will, not your own will.
Speaker A:So anything that, just all of this in general, if you were to do one red flag that that's like the, almost like the opener and the closer, like why to close the book.
Speaker A:And if anything puts you at the center, it is not biblical.
Speaker A:Um, lastly are the effects.
Speaker A:So like I've not mentioned before, Reiki, it's a temporary peace, an energetic sensation, right?
Speaker A:Where for Christ and the Holy Spirit, it's a lasting peace, lasting discernment and it gives you fruits of the Holy Spirit, which that's Galatians 5:22 through 23.
Speaker A:So all that being said, I mean it's pretty easy to already see why Reiki is not biblical.
Speaker A:But let's get into like the nitty and gritty.
Speaker A:Why is Reiki just considered unbiblical one, you have to pay for it.
Speaker A:If you have to pay for any type of spiritual well being, it's probably cultish and or demonic because Christ at any, never at any point in history has it ever been.
Speaker A:You'd have to pay for it because it's already been paid for.
Speaker A:With Christ on the cross, anyone all around the world, it is free.
Speaker A:It's a free gift given to you by God, salvation and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Um, and sometimes God gives it and thrusts it onto people who didn't even ask for it or want it.
Speaker A:I mean think of Saul turning into Paul, right?
Speaker A:He didn't ask for God to change his Heart.
Speaker A:He didn't ask for understanding who Jesus was.
Speaker A:He didn't care.
Speaker A:He wanted to persecute Christians, and God came and blinded him with the Holy Spirit for days until he understood who Christ was.
Speaker A:And then Jesus came and taught him for a couple of years, which is amazing.
Speaker A:Huh?
Speaker A:Baby girl, am I gonna have to take a break to burp you?
Speaker A:Looks like she might be falling back asleep, and then I can burp her.
Speaker A:We'll see.
Speaker A:It'd be funny if I caught her pooping on here, because those things are so gnarly.
Speaker A:Baby poops.
Speaker A:So also, from a biblical perspective, Reiki just raises so many concerns.
Speaker A:So, like, one, the source of power.
Speaker A:Reiki teaches that healing comes from a universal energy that's accessible to anyone, rather than, like, the Holy Spirit or the power of God.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So Scripture tells us that true healing power comes from God alone.
Speaker A:I am the Lord who heals you.
Speaker A: That's Exodus: Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Whatever that means.
Speaker A:Apart from God introducing a spiritual power that Scripture warns can be deceptive.
Speaker A:She's pooping.
Speaker A:I knew it.
Speaker A:Scripture warns can be really deceptive.
Speaker A: o think of Second Corinthians: Speaker A:Like, I'm talking about spiritual authority.
Speaker A:Reiki practitioners often invoke symbols or atonements or rituals to channel energy.
Speaker A:Okay, we had.
Speaker A:We had an interruption where Amazon dropped off something and Penelope had to get changed.
Speaker A:So we're back.
Speaker A:I'm just gonna start back with spiritual authority, because I don't even remember where I left off.
Speaker A:But for spiritual authority, Reiki practitioners often invoke, like, symbols and atonements and rituals to challenge energy, which.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's.
Speaker A:I mean, right then and there.
Speaker A:These practices are rooted in Eastern mysticism, not the Holy Spirit, which in turn is demonic.
Speaker A:Anything that's not rooted in the Holy Spirit is demonic.
Speaker A:And, yes, people may be like, well, what if I root it in the Holy Spirit when I do this?
Speaker A:We'll get to that.
Speaker A:Okay, we're not there yet.
Speaker A:So the Bible warns against practicing any type of spiritual systems outside of God's authority.
Speaker A: Um, think of Deuteronomy: Speaker A:But to kind of sum it up, it's, there shall not be, there shall not be found among you one who practices divination and interprets omens.
Speaker A:So this would be a type of divination or an interpreting of an omen.
Speaker A:Because if you think about using a different type of spiritual force or a different type of energy that is not of Christ over somebody Then absolutely.
Speaker A:That's not good.
Speaker A:So, yes, then what if I use the spiritual authority of Christ?
Speaker A:That will.
Speaker A:We'll talk about that after the next two points.
Speaker A:So also mixing of belief systems.
Speaker A:So Reiki, this kind of goes with it.
Speaker A:Reiki blends spiritual concepts that conflict with the gospel.
Speaker A:So it teaches that humans can access healing energy within themselves or the universe at any point in time, rather than relying on the redemptive power of Christ.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So if you think like, oh, I'm a Reiki healer and I can be a Christian Reiki healer, that means that you can access the power of the Holy Spirit whenever you want to and just say, in the name of the Lord, I heal your knee.
Speaker A:In the name of the Lord, I'm going to bring in the power of the Holy Spirit and, you know, hover over this person and it will bring them the temporary healing.
Speaker A:Let me tell you, when God heals in the Bible, it is not temporary.
Speaker A:He doesn't temporarily, you know, cure blindness.
Speaker A:He didn't temporarily help the woman who was bleeding for years, and then she just stopped bleeding for five minutes.
Speaker A:None of his miracles were temporary.
Speaker A:Hi, baby girl.
Speaker A:She's in her little baby Bajoran bouncer.
Speaker A:So anything that Christ does is not temporary.
Speaker A:When he changes your heart, it is a heart change whenever it's a temporary thing, like when we're struggling with sins or with things in our life in the flesh, flesh, that's a temporary thing.
Speaker A:That has.
Speaker A:That's not God working in your life.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So just on those things, you can't be a Christian who also practices Reiki, but there's other stuff I want to get into.
Speaker A:So also, there's a false sense of spiritual peace, which drives me insane when Reiki can bring, like.
Speaker A:I think people think Reiki brings a sense of physical relaxation, almost like a massage or meditation.
Speaker A:But what's happening is that they're calming their mind down in, like, a spiritual openness.
Speaker A:And because of that, it encourages and exposes people to deceptive.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Spirits that can masquerade as peace or light, which, if you think of Lucifer, he literally was the representation of worship and light in the Bible before he fell as a demonic entity.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So just because something can come across and present itself as something beautiful, which a lot of sin does, but sin is also a type of shortcut, and it's also temporary.
Speaker A:And everything about Reiki and what it stands for literally stands as sin.
Speaker A:So for a Christian, of course, looking at this from the outside, it's like, what.
Speaker A:Why would a Christian even Try to mix this in any way, shape or form because all of the spiritual aspects of it are anti biblical.
Speaker A:And this is why when you come to any type of practice, you always back things up.
Speaker A:Whether whether you disagree with something or whether you, whether you agree with it, you better have verses that back up your belief because your belief better be God's.
Speaker A:And if it doesn't back it up, then you have a heart posture issue with the Lord.
Speaker A:So the biblical view of healing, okay, after all of this, I've already kind of said it, but let's really give you some scripture on what a biblical view of healing is.
Speaker A:God absolutely still heals, but he does it through prayer, right?
Speaker A:James 5, 14, 15, faith and obedience.
Speaker A:Think of Mark 5, 34 and natural means of creation, like herbs and things like that, um, which, that's all throughout the Bible.
Speaker A:We have a whole Bible herbal series.
Speaker A:You guys can listen to medical knowledge.
Speaker A:Also the book roll.
Speaker A:Luke was also a physician.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:If you think of the Gospel of Luke, there are practical things and spiritual aspects that involve how God can heal people.
Speaker A:So but the most important aspect of healing is through salvation.
Speaker A:Because I think a lot of people think, oh, if I'm in pain, like they, they pull a job, they go.
Speaker A:If you're in pain or if you're struggling financially, if you're strugg any way in your life, that's a hold of Satan and you need to repent of some things.
Speaker A:No, that's like Job's friends and Job's wife.
Speaker A:God is sometimes using you through a season as well to be able to love on others or yourself, to grow you so that he can sanctify you in his kingdom.
Speaker A:So your life is not your own, whether or not you're a Christian.
Speaker A:But Christians are also called to seek God's presence and wisdom for healing, not use impersonal energy forces that you can quote, unquote control.
Speaker A:So can Christians do Reiki?
Speaker A:Let's go down to bra, brass tacks.
Speaker A:I think it's understandable that some Christians are drawn to Reiki because it seems gentle.
Speaker A:It kind of seems non invasive or like not really spiritual or not religious.
Speaker A:But when we tested against scripture, it is all of those things, right?
Speaker A: First Corinthians: Speaker A:You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too.
Speaker A:You cannot have a part in the both.
Speaker A:You cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons.
Speaker A:Reiki isn't just like a part of, I guess, physical touch.
Speaker A:It's a spiritual practice that people don't realize it does involve power that is apart from God.
Speaker A:And as Christians, we believe that there are powers and principalities that are going against us as Christians and against God.
Speaker A:They're the enemy, and we fight against the enemy.
Speaker A:We don't try to use it.
Speaker A:We don't need it.
Speaker A:God's the most powerful, right?
Speaker A:So even if a Christian practitioner intends to, quote, invite Jesus, like into a Reiki session, the method itself becomes a spiritual system that denies Christ as an exclusive source of power because you think you're an exclusive source of power.
Speaker A:So that makes it completely incompatible with biblical faith.
Speaker A:You cannot do Christian aspects of Reiki and involve it in any way.
Speaker A:So, I mean, first Timothy 2, 5, for there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
Speaker A:And that's it.
Speaker A:You are not the mediator.
Speaker A:You don't get to control the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit can control you and convict you, not the other way around.
Speaker A:Oh, I also, I was thinking of something while I was saying that, and now I don't even remember what I was going to say, but it was another good point.
Speaker A:So hopefully it will come back to me.
Speaker A:The Lord will bring it back.
Speaker A:Oh, I remember.
Speaker A:Thank you, Lord.
Speaker A:I do think, though, on behalf of Christians who may be offended hearing this, which you shouldn't be, if, if Scripture makes it clear, the offensive part is in your heart and you need to go to Christ.
Speaker A:But I do think that there are people who have talents that are called to help love on people in healing.
Speaker A:Like, my grandma has the most sensitive, gentle, motherly, beautiful touch.
Speaker A:And when she, like, massages me or puts her hands on me and prays, I swear she just has that gift of, like, she knows when it's time to love on somebody in that way and things just melt away.
Speaker A:Her hands feel warm.
Speaker A:There is, like, a sense of, like, energy, I guess that can be like, I don't know.
Speaker A:Some people are gifted with that.
Speaker A:But here's the thing.
Speaker A:I don't think that source of energy is a spiritual energy.
Speaker A:I just think that the same way that some people are gifted in hosting, or some people are gifted in teaching or speaking or whatever, some people have the gift of being able to love on people physically in that way and spiritually through prayer.
Speaker A:And sometimes it's a combination of the two, but it's not considered energy healing.
Speaker A:And there's a difference in that.
Speaker A:And also, those people, just like any other gift, like hosting Jeremiah and I have to be discerning of when we can Host and not host financially for energy.
Speaker A:Just being able to focus on our family, on our home.
Speaker A:You don't host 24, seven, a thousand hours a day unless God's calling you to do that.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:The same way that I'm not going to just go up to someone out of the blue and be like, can I just massage you for a minute?
Speaker A:Or can I pray over you?
Speaker A:No, God gives you discernment in those things.
Speaker A:And so there's a difference.
Speaker A:Okay, so, yeah, But I do think that some people do have more so of the gift of, I don't know, like loving on people in that way.
Speaker A:I hate to say the word healing because I don't think it's healing.
Speaker A:Like when I work on people, some injuries are get better and they are healed.
Speaker A:And then some of them, some people have to come back and work on it, but it's not me healing them.
Speaker A:I'm not their healer.
Speaker A:Only Christ is a healer, not me.
Speaker A:And individually, I also have to.
Speaker A:When I get worked on by a practitioner, I don't go, oh my gosh, they healed me, they cured me.
Speaker A:Same thing with a doctor.
Speaker A:A doctor doesn't cure me.
Speaker A:But the wisdom and knowledge and things like in going in the surgery, they did a great job, but God's the one who kept me alive.
Speaker A:God is the only giver and taker of life.
Speaker A:Okay, that rant being over, what can we do instead?
Speaker A:Okay, if a Christian feels down, right, like where they feel like they literally have a loss of energy, I, I like to think of the.
Speaker A:Hi, baby girl.
Speaker A:I like to think of the prophets in the New Testament and of the Old Testament, you know, like the small prophets and the, like the small pro.
Speaker A:I almost said the small prophets and the big prophets.
Speaker A:I meant to say the small prophet books and then the big prophet books, like Jeremiah would go home and read his scripture and then go out and just get battered every single day.
Speaker A:And he did it for years and years and years and he would be drained by the end of the day, but then he'd fill his cup up again and be filled by the Holy Spirit via.
Speaker A:I mean, it can.
Speaker A:Yeah, I mean, he had to have been filled by the Holy Spirit, even though.
Speaker A:Wait, no, he wasn't.
Speaker A:Okay, wait, this is blowing my mind right now realizing this because the Holy Spirit wasn't here on earth.
Speaker A:Well, I feel like I need to ask Jeremiah a question now.
Speaker A:Here's a question.
Speaker A:Someone can call me and correct me because Mo, was Moses the only one in the, like, Old Testament that's technically filled with the Holy Spirit, but then it would leave him.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:I don't think that happened to the smaller large prophets.
Speaker A:So they were literally just getting their cups filled with the Word and then still continuing to do that.
Speaker A:Modern day Christians, we actually get filled by the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Like, think about how much more endurance we can have.
Speaker A:We don't just have the Word, we don't just have prayer, we have the Spirit's indwelling and we have community.
Speaker A:So in those things alone, community, the Holy Spirit, the Word, I mean, we should be able to not just fill our cups, but be overflowing.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So if you think about like your energy being low.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, Jesus even had to go into the wilderness and get refilled by the Lord.
Speaker A:Like he went and did that.
Speaker A:So I don't know, it may, it may be pointing to a God given desire to.
Speaker A:For you to need to bring comfort into your life, basically is what I'm trying to say.
Speaker A:It sounds like you need the wholeness of God, you need to understand his fruits and you ultimately need peace.
Speaker A:But not in just good moments or in the things that you want.
Speaker A:Like, I don't know, for instance, like a lot of my friends struggle with infertility and I mean their desires to want to have kids are a beautiful thing.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And once I, I had a friend recently who said, like, my desire to want to have children became an idol in my life.
Speaker A:And I understand that that happened to me.
Speaker A:That's a part of my story as well.
Speaker A:And so she was saying, like, but I don't want to pray for the desire of children to be taken away because it's a good thing, it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker A:But if it becomes an idol where you're praying for it non stop and it's stopping you from doing things that God's calling you to do, then yes, you can ask for God to take it away until.
Speaker A:Right, until God blesses you with that baby.
Speaker A:Which amazingly she said that and was discussing it with me and I.
Speaker A:While she was discussing it, she had no idea that she was pregnant.
Speaker A:So please be praying for her because that's a new awesome pregnancy, which is really exciting.
Speaker A:But just.
Speaker A:And that's just one aspect.
Speaker A:I have other friends that are struggling with the same thing.
Speaker A:But that's what I'm saying.
Speaker A:If someone is struggling with like a discomfort and it sounds like a short, quick release, like, oh, I'm just gonna go get some like energy healing, I need to be poured into.
Speaker A:Why would you go for something that is short term versus Like, I, I could, I don't even have to be present, but my friend could call me from Big Bear, Jen, um, and say, savannah, I'm drained right now.
Speaker A:Or just send me a text and be like, I need you to pray over me, please.
Speaker A:And the Holy Spirit will come and dwell upon her.
Speaker A:I don't have to be next to her for that to happen.
Speaker A:I can pray and ask God to be with her.
Speaker A:And you know what?
Speaker A:That's one of the prayers that God will answer immediately because that is a part of his will.
Speaker A:If you think about Jesus's only two command, love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as you would yourself.
Speaker A:There are some things that God will do right away because it is a part of his will no matter what.
Speaker A:And other things are.
Speaker A:You have to wait or it's a yes or no question, right?
Speaker A:So you can pursue prayer.
Speaker A:You can even lay hands on people if that's a necessity.
Speaker A:But it's not always.
Speaker A: But that's Mark: Speaker A:Listening to prayer.
Speaker A:You can listen to different type of prayers and ask, you know, like, get discernment, like, should I be praying like this, Lord?
Speaker A:I do think that obviously, like, prophetic things could happen.
Speaker A:That's a possibility, but that's not something to bank on ever.
Speaker A:You bank on intimacy, like intimate prayer with friends and family around you, bank on the word and bank on the community of people.
Speaker A:Like, if I called a friend and said, hey, like, I was just praying and I just want to let you know I got this word from the Lord and I would just like to share it with you.
Speaker A:I do love hearing that from friends, but I love it when they back it up like the word of the Lord, like this word was.
Speaker A:And they give me scripture, not just like, I was praying and you're gonna have a baby.
Speaker A:Okay, great, thanks.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:No, I was praying and God gave me this scripture about, you know, whatever.
Speaker A:So there's a difference between that and even then, I don't think I've ever had a friend ever do that, ever give me scripture in that way, in any way, shape or form, because it hasn't happened.
Speaker A:It hasn't needed to happen.
Speaker A:But if it does, cool, I'll let you guys know.
Speaker A:Also, spirit led healing ministries are obviously a beautiful thing.
Speaker A:And the fact that people can anoint others with oil and they can pray over them and ask for healing, but I know so many people who have blessed the Lord and his kingdom from not being healed and being joyful in that season that they had it.
Speaker A:And some people's seasons are lifelong.
Speaker A:Like they are crippled for life.
Speaker A:If God wanted to heal them, absolutely he could.
Speaker A:But he's also using them for that purpose and that story for that.
Speaker A:And to see them be joyful and thankful for every breath that they have, that is so much bigger of a impact than I've ever seen someone being like, and I'm healed through Christ because that causes a lot of turmoil and questioning, like, is it genuine?
Speaker A:There are so many things.
Speaker A:So I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah, I, I do pray that my daughter is never.
Speaker A:Or like myself or my husband are never used in that way.
Speaker A:I don't want to get in a horrific car accident and be crippled for life and have to tell people, like, but I still have the glory of God, you know?
Speaker A:But if God wanted to use my body in that way, he could and he should because it's his body and it's his life and it's crazy to think about.
Speaker A:But yeah, I mean, that's, that is what we do as Christians, right?
Speaker A:Being willing to be beaten or even killed to share the gospel.
Speaker A:Our bodies and minds and our lives aren't our own.
Speaker A:So to try to even seek temporary relief is anti biblical in itself.
Speaker A:Ultimately, the biggest thing that you can do to have if you feel energy drained is to seek biblical meditation, right?
Speaker A:Which you can do with a mentor.
Speaker A:You can do it through discipleship, you can do it with a loved one, with a friend, with a spouse, even with a child, one of your kids.
Speaker A:You can go to biblical meditation.
Speaker A:You can think of Psalms 1 or Joshua 1:8.
Speaker A:Having biblical meditation in your life, going into the Word and praying over that, it's really, really important and necessary as a Christian.
Speaker A:So with all these of Christianity and Reiki are not the same.
Speaker A:They will never be the same.
Speaker A:And then a lot of people going back to sound healing.
Speaker A:Sound healing is not the same as Reiki because using God's creation, using sounds and vibrations and music using different tones and pitches has nothing to do with any type of spiritual aspect unless you put it in there.
Speaker A:So again, we've mentioned, we've had tons of episodes on healing.
Speaker A:Sound healing, because it is considered biblical, as long as you don't make it weird and spiritual, you can use sounds and frequencies with that.
Speaker A:When you're using that sound and frequency in those episodes, we explained that it's a part of God's creation and it's beautiful.
Speaker A:You just play the sound and then if it works for you, great.
Speaker A:And if it doesn't, it doesn't.
Speaker A:Some people are more in tune with those things, some people aren't.
Speaker A:The same way that some people do really well with chiropractic and some people don't.
Speaker A:Some people do really well with massage and some people don't.
Speaker A:That's what's beautiful about God's creation.
Speaker A:It's individualized.
Speaker A:We are all individually made.
Speaker A:We are all individually uniquely and fearfully and wonderfully made.
Speaker A:We are all beautiful, made in the image of God.
Speaker A:And as image bearers, we are unique and all shares beautiful aspects of different aspects of who God is.
Speaker A:So some people are stronger, some people are weaker, some people are more mentally intelligent, some people blah, blah, blah, the list goes on.
Speaker A:Some people have curly hair, some people have straight hair.
Speaker A:All those things are beautiful, right?
Speaker A:They're beautiful in different and unique ways.
Speaker A:So that means we're going to respond to different types of healing in different ways.
Speaker A:Um, so yeah, that means that some people are going to be better teachers.
Speaker A:Some people are going to have, I don't know, literally more warm hands to touch or just be more sensitive to physical ailments or spiritual ailments.
Speaker A:All of these different gifts are beautiful and perfect in their own way.
Speaker A:But if they are used in a biblical way, that's what we want to lift up as Christians.
Speaker A:We don't want to promote mixing and confusing and muddying God's word and lowering scripture because Jesus said that he was the word, that he is the only way to everlasting life.
Speaker A:So if you try to do Jesus and that's what creates a cult, that's what's demonic.
Speaker A:I love Jesus and I love Reiki.
Speaker A:Nope, that's demonic.
Speaker A:I love Jesus, but I also need the Book of Mormon.
Speaker A:Nope, that's demonic.
Speaker A:I love Jesus and I need the Pope.
Speaker A:Nope.
Speaker A:No, you don't.
Speaker A:You don't need those things.
Speaker A:Believe it or not, I don't even know what Jehovah's Witnesses believe.
Speaker A:But whatever their Jesus and is put it there, whatever it is, whatever.
Speaker A:I mean, and that's the thing.
Speaker A:It doesn't have to just be like a cult practice.
Speaker A:It can also be just things that you lift up in your life.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:For me, let's talk about what I struggle with, because it's easy for me to point out everybody else.
Speaker A:I think my biggest struggles are like my body image as a practitioner.
Speaker A:I want to look healthy.
Speaker A:God bless you, baby girl.
Speaker A:I want to look healthy and feel healthy.
Speaker A:So I want my insides to show on my outsides because people judge the outside and they don't judge the inside.
Speaker A:So my Jesus and tends to be Jesus and health.
Speaker A:Nope, Savannah, that is not biblical, honey.
Speaker A:And we think of other things that I need to repent of chronically.
Speaker A:Jesus injustice.
Speaker A:That's a big one for me.
Speaker A:I want justice.
Speaker A:I want to see justice.
Speaker A:I want someone to freaking apologize to me if they have hurt me deeply.
Speaker A:And not just like a weak apology.
Speaker A:I want a repentance apology of, like, I am not going to do this.
Speaker A:And this is how I'm not going to do this.
Speaker A:Nope.
Speaker A:I can't.
Speaker A:I can't ask for that every time.
Speaker A:My poor husband.
Speaker A:If he were here, yeah, baby girl.
Speaker A:Jeremiah would be like, yeah, you do do that.
Speaker A:So just, you know those types of things.
Speaker A:It's those idols that we lift up above God.
Speaker A:Like, I can do this on my own, or this is the way I want it to be done.
Speaker A:Me, me, me, me, me.
Speaker A:Not Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
Speaker A:So I hope that this episode made sense.
Speaker A:I hope that you guys can see that you can't mix Reiki and Christianity.
Speaker A:It's just not possible just on the basis of it.
Speaker A:The same way that.
Speaker A:What did I talk about?
Speaker A:What's that chiropractic thing where people muscle testing?
Speaker A:The same way that muscle testing cannot be mixed with Christianity.
Speaker A:Just from, like, a scientific standpoint, it's not solid.
Speaker A:And outside of the scientific standpoint and a biblical standpoint, it is very much not solid.
Speaker A:In our home, we will never do muscle testing.
Speaker A:We will never do Reiki.
Speaker A:These are two hard no's for me, which is fun.
Speaker A:I feel like we don't get these often where it's like, this is a hard no in Christianity, but when we have these episodes, I also want to say it with love and with grace that with these hard nos, it doesn't mean that we can't come and meet people where they are the same way that God does.
Speaker A:Even in missionaries.
Speaker A:Like, Jesus came down as, like, the ultimate missionary, right?
Speaker A:And met us.
Speaker A:Oh, oh, there's some spit up.
Speaker A:Oh, no.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Oh, no.
Speaker A:Come here, baby.
Speaker A:Oh, no.
Speaker A:Okay, there we go.
Speaker A:I wiped her.
Speaker A:Um, Jesus met us where we were.
Speaker A:He met.
Speaker A:Meets all of us where we are.
Speaker A:Think of the woman at the well.
Speaker A:Think of everyone that Jesus spoke to.
Speaker A:He comes and meets us where we are, but then he's honest and truthful about where we are and where we're struggling.
Speaker A:And he spoke to the people who would receive that.
Speaker A:Well, he had the discernment.
Speaker A:He checked in with the Lord and knew when to speak and when not to Speak.
Speaker A:Sometimes we can see things like, that's sinful, but we don't have to call it out every single time unless someone calls us to.
Speaker A:Or it's clear that God's like, hey, if you don't say this, that you are now sinning.
Speaker A:And we get those convictions from the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:So be discerning.
Speaker A:Whether it's in healing practices or just in everyday life, no one's perfect at it.
Speaker A:I'm certainly not.
Speaker A:I'm one of those people.
Speaker A:I want judgment and conviction right away and like, thank the Lord he doesn't do that to me.
Speaker A:But I have to help Penelope now.
Speaker A:But I hope this is an episode you guys can share with friends or family that have questions about these practices.
Speaker A:I came from a spiritual, demonic cult background, which is one of the reasons why I have a huge heart for the people who are in these things and don't understand it, because I didn't.
Speaker A:I thought it was amazing.
Speaker A:I thought I was powerful and blah, blah, blah.
Speaker A:So I know you guys didn't get to hear Jeremiah's sweet and fun voice.
Speaker A:He'll be on next week's episode and I love that.
Speaker A:I actually got to do like in depth research for this and not feel unprepared and not feel like I'm giving you guys crappy episodes, which I felt like I was for a while.
Speaker A:And I. I'm so sorry for that.
Speaker A:It's just a new season, a new stage of life and I do pray we can go back to weekly episodes soon.
Speaker A:But until then, Penelope and I both love you and Jeremiah does as well.
Speaker A:And keep casting seeds, not pearls.
